Love is in the Air

I experienced love first-hand yesterday.

A bit of background:  My new car, Jello, has lots of admirers.  He makes a cool spaceship sound when I brake, & he saves me lots of $$ at the pump.  Yay for hybrids!

Yesterday, another car was so enamored w/ my car it just couldn't stay away.  Jello got his first (& hopefully last) kiss!

Aftermath of the powerful kiss on enamored car

Upon finding his Toyota sign missing, enamored car's owner was so distraught that he walked back onto the freeway (THE FREEWAY!) to pick up the sign.  Granted, there was stop & go traffic...  But the man walked through on-coming traffic for a sign.  True love or lunacy?  I wish I'd thought to take a picture of that

Free dessert to the first person who can tell me the license plate of that enamored car!  (Tip:  it's backwards)

Thanks to Rebecca, I was inspired to do a massive summer update too...

Most of the summer wasn't very eventful at all.  I studied, spent a lot of time in the library, fell asleep on my books every night, took a test, things like that...  No pictures for that part of the summer b/c there wasn't much to see.

But then, I went on my bar trip

Meet the crew:
  Poca                           Terencito                        Neeners                       Jada

  Monkey Arms
             Pebe                              Tizzy                              Bun Bun

First, six of us (the crew minus Tizzy & Jada) went to COSTA RICA, where I discovered mamonchinos (aka rambutans).  I ate an entire bag all by myself

Here is some Starbucks-grade coffee beans vs. not-so-Starbucks-more-likely-Juan-Valdez-grade coffee beans ...so all of you Starbucks addicts out there don't feel as guilty about paying $3/cup.

Even a non-coffee drinker like me can enjoy Costa Rican coffee ... in very small amounts.  Costa Ricans don't burn their coffee beans, & there's a distinct taste of cinnamon.
Yummmmmmy

We went
rappelling down the waterfalls, hiking up to a volcano, swimming in hot springs, & just plain ol' lounging at the beach.

We also went ziplining thru the rainforest.  The 1st day, it started pouring so we stopped early--after getting drenched, shivering & generally being miserable in the middle of a wretched forest .  The 2nd day, it didn't rain at all, & we were much happier

The Tarzan swing, on the other hand, was more like screaming for your life while swinging thru the forest.  The pics don't give justice to how scary it was.

Guess which one of us fell out of the raft?  No, it wasn't me.
(Hint:  five of us are paddling thru the rapids, but one has her oar flailing thru the air).

It was Toro's very first time guiding a raft, but he didn't tell us that until the very end...

All in all, Costa Rica was great.  Rappelling was by far my favorite activity.  You can't leave Costa Rica w/o doing it.

Pics from CHINA& KOREA coming soon!

4 weddings & a funeral

this past few months has been a whirlwind of events -- it involved a lot of my having to dress up like a real girl (dress, high-heeled shoes & all).  here are some of those events, starting w/ the school functions...

law prom & 3L dinner

4 weddings.  congrats to the happy couples--john & grace, rebecca & andrew, keefe & mimi, audrey & michael!!

the funeral.  last week, i said farewell to my life as a student.

please don't be deceived by the smile on my face.  i'm quite sad to have to re-join the "real world."    i enjoyed my 3-year vacation in the ivory tower.  now, if only i could find someone who'd pay me to be a student for the rest of my life.  any takers?  any??
